Small processors like this are great for saving labor but nothing beats the output of a commercial duty splitter or conveyor. Commercial duty splitters will cost $10,000-$17,000 typically. The most affordable processors are going to be the Halverson units that run on skid steer which we also sell and they perform well. They range from $10,000-$23,000 and they have the performance of a $40,000-$60,000 processor at a reduced cost by using the skid steer to power the processor. We have commercial duty stand alone processors in the $40,000 to $100,000 price range from Timberwolf and Built Rite. All processors perform best with straight fairly knot free wood up to 16 inches. They can handle some knots and larger diameter logs but straight and under 16 inches is ideal. If most of your wood is large diameter, crooked and with knots a commercial duty splitter is ideal way to increase production. If you are able to select lots of fairly straight logs up to 16 inches a processor would work well for you. The 2023 model has some improvements over 2022 model.
